The Miller Group is the UK's largest privately owned Housebuilding, Property Development and Construction business. Due to their position as one of the industry's leading employers of graduates they are constantly inundated with CV's from potential candidates looking for employment.
However, due to the amount of cv's which are now being received, sifting through these applications has become a very time consuming process and it has become clear that there are many applications from candidates who are not best suited to the jobs advertised.
SolutionDigital Face were drafted in to create a website which gives a highly professional impression of the Miller Group which appeals to ambitious and creative graduates and allows them to showcase the strength and diversity of its graduate programme through video testimonials of existing Miller graduates.
The website had a dual purpose, the first was to make it a fully fledged working member of the graduate recruitment team by allowing graduates to apply online thus cutting out the written application process.
The second purpose was to ensure that only those candidates who had a real interest in working for Miller applied for the positions available, this was done by making the online recruitment form more difficult meaning candidates actually had to think about why they wanted to work for Miller and discuss what they wanted to achieve from a career with them.
OutcomeSince the site was launched there has been a marked increase in visitor numbers. Applications for the same period as last year have doubled, however, only a quarter of those have gone on to complete the application process and submit their form, meaning the system is working as it should in only encouraging serious candidates to apply.
Miller are ecstatic about the calibre of candidates they are now receiving and have more time to devote to interviewing and training now the website has drastically reduced time spent on sifting applications.
